South Africans are increasingly confronted by a landscape of fraud. The Fraud Prevention Service says there was a 600% increase in incidents of fraud reported by their members in 2022 when compared to 2018. Identity thief has increased by more than 300%. Manie van Schalkwyk explains more about why this country is such a playground for these fraudsters compared to the rest of the world.
